Addictions 5.0

This week is a little bit all over the place, but that’s kind of the way things get when the weather starts to warm up and the days get a bit longer. I’ve been wondering why we ever continued to “fall back” with the time change later in the year. This way is much better.

This weekend kicked off the 29th annual SXSW Film, Music, and Interactive festival. This is one of my favorite festivals of the year, because they have some of the best programming, talented musicians, and newest technological advances on display in one of my favorite towns. Austin, TX is rich in flavor (pun intended) and SXSW brings even more of the weirdness they praise! If you’re reading this and happened to be in Austin during the festival make sure to check out some of the films, comedians, musicians, and panels going on!

2. March 20th: Extraterrestrial Abductions Day!

With the new season of The X-Files come and gone we must still celebrate those we have lost in the years past by throwing on your best alien costume, blast the X-Files theme song, and watch Independence Day!

3. Girl Scout Cookies

Girl Scout Cookie season is upon us and if you only learned that through last month’s Oscars then you have more than likely been held hostage in an underground meat factory. The cookie craze is on and popping more than ever. It’s even more popular than pizza (for now). Get out there and support a good cause while also justifying the new sweatpants you just bought. I don’t judge.

4. Primaries

This is the first time I have personally invested so much in an individual candidate. In fact, I’m sure this is the first time the presidential primaries have ever gotten this much attention and it’s good. Granted most of this race has been a disappointed display of racism, homophobia, and an overall lowering of the nation’s IQ there has also been a major influx of Americans aged 18-30 giving much more support than in years past. The Internet has finally done what Rock the Vote tried to do for so many years.

5. This Dog

Awwwwww. How can you not love him?
